Air Conditioning

Central air conditioning is commonly installed in attached and detached homes. Traditionally a condensing unit is placed outside the home in the desired location. A evaporator coil is positioned directly above the furnace or fan coil unit. A copper line set is connected between both components. A two pole 208/230 volt breaker in panel with high voltage electricity to outdoor unit. A low voltage wire from thermostat to furnace to outdoor unit brings it all together.

Fancoil Units

A home equipped with a boiler or hot water heating system can utilize a optional package unit that contains a blower fan, heating coil and a cooling coil. They can be equipped with a a/c or d/c current blower motor. A zone off the home boiler system would be required to provide the hot water heat for the forced air system. The fan coil unit can be positioned in multiple positions let alone hung from the ceiling for additional floor space.

Ductless Air Conditioning Systems

Carrierductless. These systems contain a package evaporator coil that is mounted on a wall inside the space requiring the cooling. No sheet metal ducting is required for the instillation / operation of the system. A small rectangular condensing unit is positioned inside or outside to reject the heat. A copper line set is connected to the two components along with a control wire. High voltage power supply to the condensing unit completes the package.

General air 1042, Honeywell or April Air are the more commonly seen in the industry. Typically they are energized during the winter months to boost the humidity level. They radiate the heat down towards the floor warming not only the air but the objects round. The objects retain the heat and stay warmer longer when cold air is allowed in. Where dust is present, this style of heater is preferred.

Garage Unit Heaters

Forced air unit heaters are commonly used for heating anything from a garage, utility shop, automotive shop, furniture showroom, etc… They range in size from a smell 30,000 BTU and up. Typically they are hung from the c eiling and vented either side wall or straight up through the roof. They are low profile and take up a minimal space in the structure. Typical maintenance is low, with simply keeping them clean by blowing out all parts and pieces via compressed air pending on the environment they are installed in.
